NOTE TO ADOPTERS

Dear MDDB adopters,

this is a reminder that you have to call and inform us that you are taking your pet for spaying at our panel clinics. If you recall, we explained to you that once your pet is ready for neutering you need to call us so that we can make the appointment for you. We will only forward your cards and payments to the clinic when we make the appointment for you. This helps us keep track of the adopted pets that have gone in for spaying. One of our panel clinics told us that several people have taken their dogs there for spaying saying that they were adopted from us. However, these people had not called us prior to going there. The vet declined to do it for them because we had not called him and told them to call us first. But we are yet to receive calls from these adopters. Since we are given special rates, the vets will have to know for sure that the pets are from us. So, please, please call us and allow us to make the first appointment for you.
Thanks and regards.

Dear MDDB
Firstly, I would like to commend you for the wonderful job that you are doing. It is not easy having to deal with the mentality and the bureaucracy around. I support wholeheartedly what you do and I have contributed to your cause. I feel that in ensuring you continue this great work with full support, some feedback may be relevant. I hope that you will take it in the manner with which it is intendend - and that is with love, support and admiration on what you do.

I know that it is frustrating what you have to go through with the councils but perhaps it would be good not to stoop to their level and use foul language. You are above all of that. What you are doing is noble, don't sully it with your choice of words. I have introduced people to your site (as well as the other animal rescue sites) in an effort to get them to support you and many have given me feedback that they don't want to be associated to an organisation that, while doing good work, does not come across as professional in their tone.

You have always called for people to show compassion in abandoned animals, to have a heart and a conscience. I would like to plead with you to conduct this noble vocation in a "gentlemanly, chivalrious" manner. Don't be like them. You are BETTER than them. Show them that you are. Look upon people like Mother Teresa and the Mahatma for inspiration. You are already doing god's good work, god bless you all very much.

Dear Anonymous,

thank you for your feedback. Believe me its truly appreciated. However, we do not like to be hypocrites. We are what we are - rough talking and confrontational in our approach. Just because we dedicate all our spare time, spare money and entire life (to a certain extent) towards animal welfare - we don't not want to live a lie and project ourselves as angels. We are far from being angels. Come meet us and you'll see that we are foul mouthed, obnoxious individuals who get along best with animals and each other. Why are you asking us to be hypocrites? Associate yourselves with us because of what we do for dogs and cats, associate yourselves with us because we are giving our lives to animal welfare, associate yourselves with us because we animal welfare is of paramount importance to us - but not because we do not live up to your fantasy and expectation of what people who do kinds deeds are supposed to be like. We don't want to be like Mother Theresa or MAhatma Gandhi. We want to be ourselves and that is being true to who we really are.

We are repeating the above comments after fine tuning it.

The truth, dear anonymous, is that kind people can also be mean when pushed. And in reality expecting people who do kind deeds to be angelic is mere fantasy. We certainly are not Mother Theresa or Mahatma Gandhi – since you have mentioned them please do a little research about them and you’ll find that they too took the bull by its horns when it was required. We are not angels. And please don't ask us to pretend to be angels.

I appreciate what Anon 3:44am is trying to say about being gentlemanly etc. However, this doesn't work with our local councils who thinks they are superior beings.

MDDB has tried the soft approach before but it gets them nowhere. So i truly understand why MDDB has to adopt the aggressive stance.

Viva MDDB. Fight for the animals.
