JULY ADOPTION DRIVE

Milo the dog was found tied to an electrical pole in Segambut about a month ago.
The pint-sized dog’s front and back paws as well as his neck was secured tightly to the post and the dog was both frightened and in pain.
Luckily canine welfare project Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) highlighted Milo’s plight on its Facebook page after being informed by a member of the public and managed to get several rescuers to rush to the spot and free the dog in the wee hours of the morning.
Milo was taken to a veterinary clinic where he was treated and neutered under MDDB’s sponsorship and is now ready for adoption.
According to MDDB adoption coordinator Christine Lai, Milo’s fosterer says he is good with other dogs and gets along fine with cats a well.
“He is also very loving and would make a good pet,’’ said Lai adding his small stature also made Milo suitable for people who cannot handle big dogs.
Milo will be among the nearly 20 puppies and dogs that will be put-up for adoption by MDDB at the Summit Shopping Complex in USJ Subang Jaya this Sunday.
MDDB’s merchandise such as T-shirts would also be sold at the event which will be held at the complex main entrance from 10.00am to 6.00pm.
According to Lai, MDDB was also seeking funds to pay for the veterinary bills of the many dogs currently under its care.
“The past few weeks have been really bad with so many seriously injured dogs coming our way. We have no other alternative other than depend on public generosity to help these dogs,’’ said Lai.
She added MDDB was also in need of supplies such as rice, dog and puppy dry and canned food, cat and kitten dry and canned food, bleach, washing soap, dog shampoo, old towels and old newspapers.
Those wanting to donate these items as well as contribute towards MDDB’s escalating veterinary bills can do so at the adoption drive.
