SAD NEWS

1) We were informed that Rolex passed away this morning. He had just received his second jab for TVD. The drugs generally weakens his immune system - and poor Rolex had contracted distemper and tick fever recently. MDDB would like to thank his rescuers Leigh and Joanne for not abandoning him or taking the easy way out by putting him to sleep. They fought hard to save his life and we are certain that Rolex died knowing there were people who cared for him. To his previous owners who dumped Rolex when he was taken ill - we have no words to describe the disdain we feel for you. The fact he had contracted TVD also tells us that he was a pet who was not neutered and allowed to roam around indiscriminately. Both Leigh and Joanne will collect his remains from the vet tomorrow for burial.

2) We are also sad to inform that three of the five puppies rescued by E-Ching from the Klang pound and handed to us have died. The dead one includes this cute little puppy who was not given the chance to grow-up. All had multiple-viral infections and green feces which the vet says was indicative of liver damage. But didn't the CAT committee say that puppies would not be caught anymore by the Klang dog catchers and that the pound was being regularly disinfected? To you liars - we are too repulsed to call you the vile names that you deserve.

PUP

This poor puppy was skin and bones when MyAnimalCare brought her to us from the Klang pound. She must have had very little to eat and must have been drinking contaminated water, that is why her urine was bloody. She was also infected with parvo and distemper. Given her condition, the poor pup only lasted several days and our only consolation is that she was well taken care off for a day or two by her fosterer Mandy before the inevitable happened.

REST IN PEACE

This beautiful puppy came to us all the way from Seremban. We tried everything we could to save her but finally her frail body gave way when she contracted both parvo and corona virus. It rankles us when something like this happens especially when we realise that we could have saved her if we had found them foster homes where they can be individually cared for instead of being placed at a veterinary clinics. As pet rescuers we have our hearts broken all the time when puppies and dogs we try so hard to save die on us.

SAD NEWS

All we can do is light a candle in memory of this nameless young dog that died in vain

We had some distressing news today. Several weeks ago two people had called us about a dog trapped under an overhead bridge along a busy road in Cheras. We suggested to both the ladies that they should take the dog home and we would get it from them to be nuetered and rehomed. One lady refused to do it and the other, who feeds it once in a couple of days, tried to get it but the young dog was not there on the day shewent to the place with a male relative. She informed us today that she found the dog dead - it must have tried to cross the road and in the process hit by oncoming traffic. We are rankled. Please people - help us help them. When you see a dog in distress please get together your people to rescue it as soon as possible. Then pass us the dog - please do not depend on us to do everything. We want to help every dog in distress and we plead with you to help us. Please do not let another dog which could have been saved die in vain. We beg you to take the extra step of getting the puppy/dog to a safe place, such as your home, pending rescue by us. Please.

Yesterday evening an independent rescuer called Mano from Old Klang Road called us about a sick dog, which was dumped at Happy Garden. He said the dog was dumped near the market and stall owners had beaten the dog with pieces of wood to shoo it away. “The dog was too sick to even move away from the beating and just stood there and allowed the men to continue beating it,’’ narrated Mano. He managed to save the dog from the men and called us to help him out. One of our volunteers took the dog to Dr Edmund’s clinic in Puchong where he was diagnosed as suffering from acute pneumonia and severe eye infection. He had also tested positive for distemper but being an adult dog, would have overcome his health issues had he been accorded veterinary care earlier. What has happened to this dog, which we shall call Blackie, its reflective of utmost cruelty practiced by some dog owners here. We tried our best but unfortunately Blackie died at the clinic this morning. His pneumonia was so severe that there was blood oozing from his nose. We can only take comfort in knowing that he had not died alone, cold and frightened on the streets. Hopefully, Blackie forgives his cruel owners as well as those who had added on to his suffering during his final hours on earth. Dear Blackie, go in peace for you are now free of all pain and suffering.

Dear peeps,

its with a very sad and heavy heart that I announce the untimely death of my brother Highway who was rescued by my human about a month ago. My human and her human siblings were on the way to some boring human event when they spotted brother Highway darting across the Kesas highway. My human got off the car and called out to him and he had apparently bounded up to her with a deep woof and jumped into her arms. Since he had a severe skin disorder he was admitted at Auntie dr Kavitha's and Auntie Dr Gowri's clinic. He was healthy and active but threw up on Tuesday. he had been neutered on Monday. He threw up again the follwing day and there were also traces of blood in his stoole. this morning both the aunties found him dead in his cage. My human and i are devastated as we were both loved brother Highway who was about only a year old. My human is sad that ins spite of rescuing him from being run down by cars at the busy highway, brother Highway did not make it. Please say a prayer for brother Highway.
