Beyonce's story shattered our hearts

Sometimes words can be much more powerful than pictures and in Beyonce's case the word to describe her plight had shattered our hearts into a zillion pieces. Our friends from KL Pooch Rescue had spotted Beyonce at a shelter after she was sent there by local council dog catchers. They were saddened to see her skin and bones and with a very badly infected eye which had gone soft. She looked at them begging for food - and they said that she could well be hoping for a second chance in life that will never come. These profound words made us want to take Beyonce in our arms and assure her that she would be safe. However, we had to sort out her health issues first before taking her in. The first thing to do would be to remove the infected eye as the infection could spread to the brain. But her blood work did not turn-up well and so she's being given nourishing food to strengthen her up before the surgery. Beyonce is reflective of the kind of values inculcated within out society - they kind of society which feels that dogs don't deserve to live of they are not owned. Whenever we visit her - our heart shatters even further as we see her seeking solace in her kennel. If she makes it through this ordeal - Beyonce will be assured of love and care all her life. Please help us help Beyonce.

SLASH VICTIM UPDATE

On the way home to fosterer's place after surgery
We strongly believe that some of the dogs that come us bruised and battered have a strong will to live and that their time is not up yet. Blackie is a very good example of this. She was found with a deep slash wound by Debbie and we offered to take her in. Once at the clinic it was discovered that besides the big and deep cut - she also had a badly infected uterus which was oozing puss through her vagina. The pain she must have gone through must have been immense. She went in for surgery and the vet removed her uterus and found that her slash wound was an old one and had built a thick mass of scar tissue which could turn cancerous. It is believed that the wound must have been kept clean by the male dog which had been with her. It was difficult to catch him and given Blackie's condition - he was sadly left behind. If there's a fosterer available - we are prepared to comb the area for him. Blackie is now recuperating at a fosterer's home and we urgently need to raise the RM3,000 paid for her surgery. Please help us help Blackie.

Justice needs help as well

Justice's rescuer can only take him back in June and given this he has to be here till then. Jeniffer Leong just finished her round of fostering and he is now with another fosterer in Setia Alam. We are in need of help for justice as we need to buy him diapers as he has no bowel control due to his paralysis. He also needs wet wipes and Stemtech capsules and Neurobion tablets to help his nerves regenerate a little. The Stemtech costs us RM205 per bottle. We would greatly appreciate any form of sponsorship.

The three puppies are down with parvo

Remember these three puppies that walked into Miki's house last week? Well Miki called us frantically saying that her mother wanted to turn them out and that she need to travel to Singapore. We told her to board them at a clinic for us to go and collect them last Monday. The vet had also charged RM30 per pup a day for boarding. Miki had deposited RM100 to cover for one day's boarding. The vet calls us on Monday to say the puppy was ill and after tests were conducted 0 it indicated that the puppy had contracted parvo. We told the vet to carry on treatment and because of this could not move the puppy out nor its siblings to prevent cross-infection. The vet called us today and told us that the puppy was ok but the other two were showing signs of falling sick. This is not a panel vet and we fear to think of what we would have to pay. We have plane to keep the puppy there for a week more before bringing them to the half-way-home to be quarantined. This is going to cost us the money we do not help - please help. They are at the Animal Polyclinic at 3 1/2 miles Old Klang Road.

Accident victim

NOW

This accident victim was found along the Puchong Highway and was rescued by former beauty queen Thanuja after she had come across our S.O.S. The doggie had hurt her legs and was unable to walk or stand. This was because of injury to the nerves. She is still being treated at the clinic and can stand a walk a little. She will soon be out and we need a fosterer for her. We are also seeking medical sponsorship for her. Please help us help her.

ON THE DAY OF HER RESCUE

Dogs in need of help and fostering.

NOW

This old boy was rescued from Serdang scavenging for food. He had bad skin and his sight is also very bad. However he has recovered after a long bout and will be ready for fostering or adoption soon. He is still at one of our panel clinics and we would be grateful is there is sponsorship for his treatment as well as temporary sponsorship. Please help us help this fellow who has also some of his teeth. The vet believed he must have tried to eat some stones and we gather this must have been due to terrible hunger.

PUGGY up for adoption

If you all remember, we had asked someone to help bust this pug from a pet shop so that we could expose how the dogs were treated there. He had had severe skin problems but is now completely cured and ready for adoption. Puggy will be put up for adoption at our Summit Subang Jaya adoption drive on Sunday March 11. If you are interested in adopting Puggy - please come there at about 11.30am.
